Information You Provide

  • Account Information: Name, email address, username, display name, profile photo, bio, gender, and activity type preference
  • Activity Data: GPS route traces, distance, duration, speed, altitude, captions, and photos uploaded with activities
  • Posts & Content: Text content, photos, and captions for standalone posts
  • Messages: Direct messages, group chat messages, message reactions, and shared attachments (photos, routes)
  • Groups: Group names, descriptions, avatars, and membership information you create or join
  • Vehicle Data: Vehicle details (make, model, year) and photos added to your garage
  • Event Participation: Event registrations, activity submissions for verification, and competition times
  • Contact Form Submissions: Name, email, and message content submitted via our website contact form

Information Collected Automatically

  • Location Data: GPS coordinates during active activity recording and when you opt in to the real-time proximity map. Location is tracked only when you are actively using these features — we do not track your location in the background outside of activity recording
  • Device Information: Device type, operating system, app version, and platform (Android or iOS)
  • Push Notification Tokens: Device tokens used for delivering push notifications
  • Usage Data: App interactions, features used, and session information
  • Voice Chat Metadata: Connection state and audio device selection during voice sessions. We do not record or store voice audio content
  • Subscription Data: Subscription plan, status, and billing dates synced from your app store purchase

How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and maintain the THRYVE Communities service, including activity recording, feed, messaging, groups, events, and voice chat
  • To display your activities, profile, and vehicles to other users (based on your privacy settings)
  • To show your location to nearby members on the proximity map (only when you opt in)
  • To verify activity routes against event reference routes for title awarding
  • To manage your subscription and enforce plan-based feature limits
  • To send push notifications about followers, likes, comments, messages, invites, and event updates
  • To process contact form submissions and respond to support inquiries
  • To monitor for abuse, enforce community guidelines, and handle reports
  • To improve our services and fix bugs via error monitoring

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:

  • Service Providers: We use trusted third-party providers for cloud hosting, database management, email delivery, voice communication infrastructure, subscription management, push notification delivery, error monitoring, and map services. These providers process data only as necessary to provide their services to us
  • Other Users: Your profile, activities, posts, titles, group memberships, and garage are visible to other users based on your privacy settings. Private profiles restrict visibility to followers only
  • Legal Requirements: When required by law, regulation, or legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of THRYVE Communities, our users, or others

Data Storage & Retention

  • Your data is stored on secure cloud servers managed by our hosting provider
  • Photos, avatars, and media files are stored in secure cloud storage
  • Live location data on the proximity map is ephemeral — it expires automatically within 60 seconds of your last update
  • Deleted content (activities, posts, comments) is soft-deleted and may be retained for a limited period before permanent removal
  • Account deletion permanently removes your profile, activities, posts, messages, and all associated data

Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including:

  • Encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) for all communications
  • Row-level security policies on all database tables ensuring users can only access authorized data
  • Secure authentication with support for Google, Apple, and email/password login
  • Verification steps for sensitive account actions (password changes, account deletion)
  • Server-side enforcement of subscription limits and access controls

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data through your profile and settings
  • Correct inaccurate data by editing your profile, activities, posts, and vehicles
  • Delete your account and all associated data from Settings > Account
  • Control visibility by setting your profile to private or hiding yourself from the proximity map
  • Manage notifications by customizing push notification categories in Settings > Notifications
  • Block users to prevent them from viewing your content or contacting you
  • Opt out of location sharing at any time by toggling map visibility off
  • Cancel your subscription through your device's app store

Children's Privacy

THRYVE Communities is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy in the app and on our website. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
